Suit Filed Against U.P.S.
On behalf of two Texas women (ages 31 and 28) and a toddler injured in a motor vehicle accident, Rob Ammons has filed suit against UPS and its employee. The lawsuit cites negligent operation of a UPS delivery van for causing the accident.
On a summer afternoon, the women and child were stopped on a Houston road behind a motorist waiting to make a left turn when a UPS van slammed into their car from behind and pushed it into the vehicle in front of them. In the lawsuit, it is claimed that the UPS driver acted negligently and caused the collision by failing to control his speed and keep a proper lookout.
Ammons claims that UPS, as the van driver’s employer, is responsible for this negligent conduct because the driver was in the course and scope of his employment with UPS at the time of the incident. Ammons also alleges in the lawsuit that UPS failed to properly qualify, hire, train, monitor and supervise the driver.
“In Texas, we value public safety. It is not acceptable when UPS drivers place the motoring public in danger. This is not the first time UPS drivers have needlessly injured members of the Houston community. It’s time UPS learned that we will not tolerate unsafe driving on the streets of Houston.”
